Answer:

Let the age of elder sister 15 years before be X & that of younger sister be Y

Then by the condition stated it will be

X = 2 Y ——————— (1)

After 15 years condition it will be

( X + 15 ) - ( Y + 15 ) = 10 ————— ( 2 )

or X - Y = 10

Now replacing the value of X in Equation ( 2 ) we have

2 Y - Y = 10

or Y = 10

Now X will be 20

This is the age of two sisters 15 years ago.

Therfore their age today will be by adding 15 years to their respective ages it will be

Y = 10 + 15 = 25

X = 20 + 15 = 35.

The current age of sisters are 35years & 25 years respectively.

Let the ages be 12x and x

12x + x = 180

x = 180/13

x = 13.846

Ratio is 12 : 1
