Answer :

The Cost of Bat is ₹ 165, Cost of the Ball is ₹125

Step by Step Explanation :

Given-

  • The cost of three bats and two balls is ₹ 745.
  • A bat costs ₹ 40 more than the ball.

Let,

The cost of one ball be x and the cost of one ball be y.

Now,

According to the question we have two equations-

  1. 3x + 2y = 745 (i)
  2. x = y + 40  (ii)

Now substituting (ii) in (i),

3 ( y + 40) + 2y = 745

=> 3y + 120 + 2y = 745

=> 5y = 745 - 120

=> 5y = 625

=> y = 625/5

=> y = 125

Now,

Substituting the value of y in eq (ii)

x = 125 + 40

=> x = 165

Therefore,

The cost of one ball is ₹125 and the cost of one bat is ₹165

I hope it helped you...
