Let the cost if chair be y and the cost of table be x

According to the question,

5x+2y=990 (i)

As per the problem

x=30+y

( Cost of table = 30 more than chair )

From eq (i)

5x+2y=990

5(30+y)+2y=990

150+5y+2y=990

7y=990-150

7y=840

y=120

Cost of one chair =₹120

Cost of one table =₹120+30 ; ₹150

Checking the answer

5x+2y=990

5*150+2*120=990

750+240=990

990=990
