The total cost of certain length of a piece of cloth is rupees is 200. If the piece was 5 m longer and each meter of cloth cost rupees 2 less, the cost of the piece would have remained unchanged. How long is the piece and what is its original rate per meter?

200/x-200/x+5=2

=x+5-x/x²+5x=2/200

=5(100)=x²+5x

=x²+5x-500

=x(x-25)+20(x-25)

(x-25)(x+20)

x=25m

Original cost per meter=cost of cloth / length of cloth

                                       =200/25

                                       =8 rs
