The total cost of flooring a room at rupees 50 per square.m is rupees 4000 if the length of the room is 10m , find its breadth

Assuming the room to be rectangular,

The area of a rectangle = length x breadth


Total cost of flooring= total area x rate per sq.m

4000 = area x 50

Therefore,
Area = 80 sq.m

Substituting the value of area in the formula for area of a rectangle,

80 = 10 x breadth

Therefore, breadth = 8 m
