The total force tending to set up a magnetic flux in a magnetic circuit is the

magnetizing force. It is usually designated by the letter H, and the unit is the

Oersted - A magnetizing force of 8000 A/m is applied to a circular magnetic

circuit of mean diameter 30 cm by passing a current through a coil wound on

the circuit. If the coil is uniformly wound around the circuit and has 750 turns,

what is the current in the coil?

The oersted (symbol Oe) is the unit of the auxiliary magnetic field H in the centimetre–gram–second system of units (CGS).[1] It is equivalent to 1 dyne per maxwell.
