Let the total income of Vijay be x and that of the Vipin be y

Their sum of income is given as Rs9,50,000

So we get equation

x + y = 950000. .... ( l )

Expenses of Vijay = x × 80 %

= x × 80/100

Expenses of Vipin = y × 85 %

= y × 85/100

Savings = Income - Expenditure

Savings of Vijay = x - 80x / 100

= 20x/100

Savings of Vipin = y - 85x/100

= 15x/100

Ratio of savings is 6 : 5

So

20x/100 ÷ 15y/100 = 6/5

20x/100 × 100/15y = 6/5

20x/15y = 6/5

20x × 5 = 15y × 6

100x = 90y

100x - 90y = 0

Dividing by 10

10x - 9y = 0. ... ( ll )

Multiplying equation ( l ) by 9

9x + 9y = 8550000

Adding equation ( ll ) & ( lll ) we get

19x = 8550000

x = 4,50,000

Now find value of x by putting value of y in equation ( l )

450000 + y = 950000

y = 950000 - 450000

y = Rs 500000

savings of Vijay = 450000 × 20/100

= 450000 × 1/5

= 90000

Saving of Vipin = 500000 × 15/100

= 5000 × 15

= 75000

So the savings of Vijay and Vipin is Rs 90 , 000 & Rs 75,000 respectively
