Let Vj = Vijay salary =X,,

Then Vp = Vipin salary =950000 - X

Vj's expenses = 0.8X and Vp's expenses = 0.85 ×(950000 - X)

Calculating Vp's expense we get: 807500 - 0.85X

SAVINGS :

Vj's savings =X-0.8X= 0.2X

Vp's svaings= (950000 - X) - (807500 - 0.85X)

This equals => 142500 - 0.15X

Saving ratio= Vj : Vp = 6:5

6 : 5 = 0.2X : (142500 - 0.15X)

0.2X/(142500 - 0.15X) = 6/5

Eliminating the denominators we have:

5(0.2X) = 6(142500 - 0.15X)

X = 855000 - 0.9X

1.9X = 855000

Dividing by 1.9 on both sides we have:

X= 450000

Their savings :

Vijay = 0.2 × 450000= Rs 90000

Vipin = 142500 - 0.15 × 450000=

Rs 75000
