According to the question it is given sum of all the 3 subjects is 120

So phy +chemistry +maths=120

We should subtract chemistry from the equ

Phy+ maths =120

Average of physics and maths

= (phy+maths)/2

120/2

=60

The average marks obrained by him in both phy and math is 60
