So, we get

2x + 2y = 200 ----------- eq.3

Subtract eq.3 from eq.2

We get,

4x + 2y - (2x + 2y) = 280 - 200

4x + 2y - 2x - 2y = 80

2x = 80

x = 80

Substitute x= 80 in eq.1

We get,

80 + y = 100

y = 20

So, the number of lions is 80 and the number of peacocks is 20.
