The total number of bananas and oranges in a basket
is 70. If the number of orangers is 10 more than five times that of bananas, find the number of bananas and oranges in the basket.​

Bananas + oranges = 70

let number of bananas be x

So number of oranges = 10 + 5x

So , the equation is -

x + 10 + 5x = 70

6x + 10 = 70

6x = 70 - 10

6x = 60

So , x = \frac{60}{6}

∴ x = 10

no of bananas = 10

no of oranges = 5x + 10

                        = 5 ₓ 10 + 10

                        = 50 + 10

                        = 60 oranges
