According to a study, at birth, total number of eggs in a female body is approximately 1 million to 2 million. When the puberty comes the number decreases to 300,000. Out of these eggs only 500 will be ovulated during the whole reproductive period.

The life span and number of eggs also depends upon the overall health of a woman and as the menopause arrives, egg production stops naturally.
