Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The total number of lions and peacocks in a certain zoo

             is 50.

            And the total number of their legs is 140.

To Find : The number of lions and peacocks in the zoo.

Let, us assume that the number of lions be "x"

And the number of  peacocks be "y".

According to the question :-

x + y = 50

x = 50 - y ---- ( 1 )

Therefore, the total number of legs = 140.

So, lion having 4 legs.

And peacock have 2 legs.

According to the question equation will be :-

4x + 2y = 140

( solving this equation) ( And put the value of "x" in this equation )

{ x  = 50 - y ( eq1 ) }

4(50 - y) + 2y = 140

200 - 4y + 2y = 140

2y = 60

y = 30

∴ The value of y = 30.

Now, from equation ( 1 ) :-

x  = 50 - y ( put the value of "y" here )

x = 50 - 30

x = 20

∴ The value of x  = 20.

ATLAST I AM CONCLUDING WHOLE ANSWER ( final answers ) :-

The total number of lions(x) = 20

And

the total number of peacocks(y) = 30.
