The total number of students in all the divisions of standard VII of a school is 363. If the number of boys is 35 more than that of girls, find the number of girls.​

let us consider no. of girls be x

boys are 35 more than girls

therefore no. of boys = x + 35

no. of girls + no. of boys = Total students

x + x + 35 = 363

2x + 35 = 363

2x = 363 - 35

2x = 328

x = 328 ÷ 2

x = 164

therefore no. of girls in class is 164
