=>x^2-3x+2=0  [since,modulus of x multiplied by negative no. Is always negative]

=>x^2-2x-x+2=0[by middle term factorisation]

=>x(x-2)-1(x-2)=0[by taking common]

=>(x-2)(x-1)=0

Therefore,either the value of (x-2)or the value of (x-1)should be zero.As they are multiplied by one another.

When (x-2)=0 then,  

x =2

And when ( x-1)=0 then,

x =1.

So,the total no. of values for x is 1 and 2.
