Total no. = 5000 Let no. Of males be x No. Of females = 5000-x Percent of males increase = 10% Percent of female increase = 15% Total increase =5600-5000= 600 Let no.of males increase be y No. Of female increase = 600-y Acc.to question :- 10%of x = y 10/100*x= y X= y*100/10 x= 10y Now,Acc.to question:- 15%*(5000-x)= 600-y 15/100*(5000-x)= 600-y (15/100*5000)-(15/100*x)=600-y 750-(15/100*x)= 600-y -15/100*x=600-y-750 15/100*x=150+y x = y+150*100/15 x = y + 1000 10y = y+1000 y = y+1000/10 y = (y/10)+100 y-(y/10) = 100 9y/10 =100 y = 1000/9 y = 110 (approx.) Now,x= 10*y x= 1110 Therfore no.of males in the city = 1110 (approx.) Hope this helped u Please mark as brainliest answer and click Thanks...............

Let no. of men be x
and no. of women be 5000 - x

Population increased from  5000 to 5600
i.e. 600
 men increased % = 10% of x
And women  increased % = 15% of (5000 - x)

so, 10% x + 15%(5000 - x) = 600
10/100 + 15/100(5000 - x) =600
10x + 75000 - 15x = 60000
-5x = -15000
x = 3000
So, the no. of males = 3000
