Given :- The total population of a village is 6000 . the number of males and females increases by 10% and 20% respectively and consequently the population of the village becomes 7500 . what was the number of males in the village ?

Answer :-

Let number of males are x . so, females are (6000 - x) .

A/q,

→ 10% of x + 20% of (6000 - x) = 7500 - 6000

→ (10 * x)/100 + 20 * (6000 - x)/100 = 1500

→ (10x + 20*6000 - 20x) / 100 = 1500

→ 120000 - 10x = 150000

→ 10x = 120000 - 15000

→ 10x = (-30000)

→ x = (-3000)

Data of the question is wrong .

if we take popultion becomes 7000 ,

then,

→ 10% of x + 20% of (6000 - x) = 7000 - 6000

→ (10 * x)/100 + 20 * (6000 - x)/100 = 1000

→ (10x + 20*6000 - 20x) / 100 = 1000

→ 120000 - 10x = 100000

→ 10x = 120000 - 100000

→ 10x = 20000

→ x = 2000 (Ans.)
