combination = 8/5

P.D. = current × resistance

8 = 2 × resistance

8/2 = resistance

4ohm= resistance

resistance = 4R/R+4 + 8/5

4 = 4R/R+4 + 8/5

4 - 8/5 = 4R/R+4

20 - 8 /5 = 4R/R+4 (L.C.M.)

12/5 = 4R/R+4

12×R+4 = 4R × 5

12R + 48 = 20 R

48 = 20R - 12R
