The total receipts for a basketball game is of Rs 1400 for 788 tickets sold . Adults pay Rs 2.50 and students pay Rs 1.25 . How many tickets of each kind were sold ? please answer fast pleasee .

Let the number of tickets sold to adults = x and to students = y.

Therefore,

we can write, x + y = 788.

2.5x + 1.25y = 1400

Now its pretty easy to solve the equations by any method.

After solving it you'll get x = 332 and y = 456.
