Let the length of the side of a cube = a cm

total surface area of the cube = 6a² square cm -----( 1 )

according to the given problem ,

Total  surface area of the cube = 96 square cm ------( 2 )

( 1 ) = ( 2)

6a² = 96

a² = 96 / 6

a ² = 16

a = √16

a = 4 cm

Now volume of the cube = a ³ cubic cm

                                        = 4³

                                        = 64 cubic cm

                                        = 64 cm³
