total surface area = 880
2.22/7.7.h + 2 . 22 / 7 . 7. 7 = 880
44.h + 308 = 880
44. h = 572
h = 572/ 44
h = 13 cm
volume = 22/7 .7.7.13
volume = 2002 cm3

Given,

The radius of a cylinder = 7 cm

The total surface area of the cylinder = 880 cm^2

To find,

a) Height of the cylinder

b) Volume of the cylinder

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem using the following process:

As per mensuration;

The total surface area of a cylinder= 2πr(r+h)

The volume of a cylinder = πr^2h

Now, according to the question;

The total surface area of the cylinder = 880 cm^2

=> 2πr(r+h) = 880 cm^2

=> 2 x 22/7 x 7 x (7+h) = 880 cm^2

=> 7 cm + h = 20 cm

=> h = 13 cm

Now,

the volume of the cylinder

= πr^2h = 22/7 x 13 cm x (7 cm)^2

= 2002 cm^3

Hence, the height of the cylinder is equal to 13 cm and the volume of the cylinder is equal to 2002 cm^3.
