Given :- The total surface of a solid hemisphere is 75 times the area of a circle whose diameter is 6cm what is the radius of hemisphere ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, radius of hemisphere is x cm.

we know that,

  • Total surface of hemisphere is = 3πr² .
  • Area of a circle = π * (radius)² .
  • radius of circle = diameter /2 = 6 /2 = 3 cm.

given that,

→ Total surface of hemisphere = 75 * area of circle

Putting values now we get,

→ 3πr² = 75 * π * (3)²

3π will be cancel from both sides,

→ r² = 75 * 3

→ r² = 25 * 3 * 3

→ r² = (5² * 3²)

→ r² = (5*3)²

→ r² = (15)²

square root both sides,

→ r = 15cm. (Ans.)

Hence, radius of hemisphere is 15cm.
