Question ⤵️

Total weight

The total weight of a cat and a dog is 10 kg 500 g

The dog weights 4kg more than the cat

Now, what is the weight of the cat ?

Solution ⤵️

Weight of the cat = 5248 kg

Weight of the dog = 5252

Step by step explanation ⤵️

Let , the weight of the cat be x kg

Now , the dog is 4 kg more than the cat

Therefore , weight of the dog =

x + 4

We know that ,

Total weight of the cat and the dog = 10 kg 500 g = 10500 g

Now ,

Weight of the cat + weight of the dog = Their total weight

=> x + (x + 4) = 10500

=> x + x = 10500 - 4

=> 2x = 10496

=> x = 10496 ÷ 2

=> x = 5248g

Therefore , weight of the cat = 5248g

We know that ,

Weight of dog is 4000g more than the weight of the cat

Therefore , weight of the dog = 4000g + 5248g = 5252g

Answer ⤵️

Weight of the cat = 5248g

Weight of the dog = 5252

Proof ⤵️

Weight of the cat = 5248g

Weight of the dog = + 5252g

Total weight = 10500g
