The totle number of students in a school is 1140.If the boys and girl are in the ratio 14:5 Find the number of each of them.

Let the number of boys and girls be 14x and 5x

Total number of students = 1140

14x = 5X = 19X

19X = 1140

X = 1140/19

X = 60

No: of girls = 5 * 60 = 300

No: of boys = 14 * 60 = 840
