The town planning of the Harappan Civilization is better than the town planning of today because it was divided in to 2 parts. 1 Citadel, 2. Lower Town.

Citadel- This was located on an elevated plane. And all important buildings such as the town hall and granary were located there.

Lower Town- This section was located below the citadel and contained brick houses where common people lived.
