 HOW DID THE TRADER’S MIND WORK?
1. Being dishonest and greedy, he wanted to cheat the old woman.
2. He decided to hide the truth from the old woman.
 The trader planned to tell her that the bowl was worthless.
 He would walk away and return later, pretending to pity them.
 He would take the bowl from them for very little money.
 He went ahead with his plan and was glad to notice that his plan was working.
 The honest trader decided to sell his wares in that street because he did not find the other trader there.

 When he was shown the bowl, he revealed to the old woman that it was made of gold and worth at least a thousand silver coins.

 The honest trader, being fair, gave the old woman all the money he had.
 Since he felt this was not enough, he also gave her all his goods.
 He just kept enough money to return home.
 The dishonest trader returned to find out that the bowl was gone and his wicked plan had been foiled.
 He also had to face the anger of the old woman.
 The dishonest trader was in great distress when he discovered the bowl had been given away to the other trader.
 He was so blinded by his greed and disappointment that he accused the old woman of having cheated him by giving away the bowl to someone else.
 He went after the honest trader to claim the bowl but he failed to find him.
 He returned home empty-handed and crestfallen (disappointed).
 By the time he reached home, he was very ill.

 It fetched him more money than he had expected.
 He returned home a wealthy man.
 The good man is thus rewarded.
