Given info : the trajectory of a particle moving in vast maidan is as shown in the figure the coordinates of a position a are (0,2).

To find : the coordinates of another point at which the instantaneous velocity is same as the average velocity between the points are...

solution : instantaneous velocity is same as the average velocity. it will happen only when acceleration of the particle must be zero between the points of trajectory of motion.

acceleration, a = 0

⇒dv/dt = 0

⇒v = constant.

therefore velocity of particle must be constant.

see graph, 3 < x < 5 , graph is a straight line. it shows , velocity of particle remains same between these points.

so you can choose any points between these points i.e. (4, 2) at which instantaneous velocity is same as the average velocity.

Therefore point (4,2) , at which instantaneous velocity is same as the average velocity.
