Given :  2x-5y-11=0  , origin is shifted to the point (5,-2)

To find : transformed equation

Solution:

Let say X , Y be coordinated wrt to shifted point ( 5 , -2)

=> X = x - 5    & Y = y  -(-2)

=> x = X + 5   &  y = Y - 2

Original Equation was 2x-5y-11=0

substituting x = X + 5    &   y = Y - 2   will get transformed Equation

=> 2(X + 5) - 5(Y - 2)  - 11  = 0

=> 2X + 10 - 5Y + 10 - 11  = 0

=> 2X - 5Y  + 9  = 0

2X - 5Y  + 9  = 0  is transformed equation of 2x-5y-11=0 when origin is shifted to the point (5,-2)
