The usual time taken for the transfusion of platelet concentration is about 1-2 hours. But the maximum amount of time taken for it should be up to 4 hours long otherwise if done too fast or too slow, there is a potential for overload and can be seriously harmful.

ANSWER:

Transfusion of platelet concentrate should be completed within a maximum of four hours after the blood is removed from the body.

EXPLANATION:

Platelet transfusion is also known as platelet concentrate. This is a process which helps to treat or prevent bleeding in people who have low platelet count. In some people, the platelets do not function in the right manner and so such people require platelet concentrate or transfusion.

In most cases, matching platelets must be transfused but because of unavailability of matched platelets, unmatched platelets may also be transfused by injecting into veins.
