let the size of tree be x
then on day 1
size of tree = x+ x/2 = 3x/2 (1). [ original height + times the height increased = Height increased
on day 2
size of tree = 3x/2× 1/3 = x/2
size of tree= x/2+3x/2 =2x(2)
on day 3
size of tree = 2x × 1/4= x/2
size= x/2 +2x = 5x/2 (3)
can we see a pattern
yes as difference between (1),(2) and(3) is x/2 then it is an AP
to find n. number of days
an = a+ (n-1)d
100x= 3x/2+ (n-1)x/2. { from. (1) and above }
solve this above to get answer and neglect the -ve value
