Given :-

The triangular side walls of a flyover have been used for advertisements. The sides of the walls are 122 m, 22 m and 120 m (see figure). The advertisements yield an earning of ₹5000 per m² per year. A company hired one of its walls for 3 months.

To Find :-

How much rent did it pay?

Solution :-

We know that

Semiperimeter = a + b + c/2

Semiperimeter = 122 + 22 + 210/2

Semiperimeter = 264/2

Semiperimeter = 132 m

Area = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)

Area = √132(132 - 122)(132 - 22)(132 - 120)

Area = √132(10)(110)(12)

Area = √17,42,400

Area = 1320 m²

Rent of 1 m in one year = 5000 m²

Rent of 1320 m² in 3 months = 3 × 5000 × 1320/12

Rent of 1320 m² in 3 months = 16,500,000
