• True positive rate = Recall =   $\frac{t_p}{t_p + f_n}$    where $t_p$ = true positive and $f_n$=false negative.
• Suppose a program is used to identify males in a picture.
• Suppose it returns a value of 10 males out of 15 humans.
• Of these 10, 8 are actually males which is true positive and rest 2 are females (false  positives).
