Adiabatic means no heat added or lost during the process. During the heating of the tyre, heat is being added to the air. That is not the adiabatic part. When the tyre bursts, the air expands very quickly. It is that expansion that they are talking about when they say the process is adiabatic. They mean it happens so fast, there is not enough time for any significant amount of heat to be added to or subtracted from that air. The expansion of the air is the adiabatic process.
