Answer:

The quantities of the ingredients that were left over is calculated as follows:

¼ cinnamon = 0.25 units

⅓ nutmeg = 0.33 units

½ ginger = 0.5 units

⅝ pumpkin = 0.625 units

According to the question, Quincy used the most ingredients. This means, she used an ingredient which had the lowest leftover quantity. Out of the 4 ingredients, cinnamon has the least quantity and so was used by Quincy.

Lucy used the least amount of ingredients, hence, the quantity of the ingredient used by her was the highest remaining. As the quantity of pumpkin was highest remaining, she used pumpkin.

Since, Prudence used more of her ingredients than John, she had a lesser quantity of ingredient that was left. Therefore, out of nutmeg and ginger, nutmeg had a lower quantity and was used by Prudence.

Therefore, Ginger was used by John.
