- Industrial areas should built away from residential areas and should be surrounded by thick green belts (trees), so that, the polluting components released from the industries (mainly carbon dioxide and water vapour) are removed by the trees.
- The toxic particulate matter like soot, fly ash ,etc released from industries should be filtered out before the gaseous effluents are released from the industries into the atmosphere. The toxic elements can be chemically converted to non-toxic forms and then released into the atmosphere.
- The liquid effluents should also be filtered to remove the toxic components before they are released into any water body. Water can be conserved by promoting techniques like rain water harvesting.
