(i) Moving a magnet towards a coil sets up a current in the coil circuit, (ii) If a coil is moved rapidly between the twopoles of a horse-shoe magnet, then an electric current is induced in the coil.

This can be either achieved by
Changing the magnetic field linesRotating the coil between two poles of a magnet ( DC generator where the coil moves between 2 magnetic poles)
Moving the magnet towards and away the coil so as to acquire the direction of current
