In oxygen the three oxygen atoms are arranged in a bent shape the central oxygen atom makes one single bond with a terminal oxygen atom and double bond with the outer terminal oxygen atom but the electron of double bond are delicate over the three oxygen atom due to which the single and double bond are not entirely pure giving rise to the oxygen oxygen bond distance and average has distance of the single and double bond.
