First,we need to know that the pole of height 14m is facing towards that of 9m. so the part which is equal in height of that of nine metres are equal and the remaining part is considered as x. To find x we will subtract 14 with 9 as the total height is 14 and the part equal to that of 9m is 9m.we get 5m and the base of the triangle will be 12m as the lower part forms a rectangle with base 12m. So we need to use Pythagoras theorem to find the hypotenuse the triangle which is 13m. Hope this will help you.
