Let in ∆ABC, BC = 5 cm and AC = 12 cm.

Therefore,

By Pythagoras theorem,

(AB)² = (BC)² + (AC)²

=> (AB)² = (5)² + (12)²

=> (AB)² = 5 × 5 + 12 × 12

=> (AB)² = 25 + 144

=> (AB)² = 169

Now,

(AB)² = 169

AB × AB = 13 × 13

=> Or AB = 13 Cm

Therefore,

  • Length of the hypotenuse = 13 cm.

Answer:

13 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

---------

base ( b) be 12 cm and

perpendicular ( p) be 5 cm

and hypotenuse be h

A.T.Q

---------

b ^{2}  + p ^{2}  = h ^{2}

 {12}^{2}  +  {5}^{2}  = h ^{2}

144 + 25 = 169

 \sqrt{169 }  = 13
