Let the two equal sides of right angled triangle be x.

Then by Pythagoras theorem -

Hypotenuse ^2 = base ^2 + perpendicular ^2.

50 = x^2 + x^2cm^2

50 = 2x^2cm^2

x^2 = 25 cm^2

x = +-5 cm

But side of triangle cannot be negative.

Therefore side of triangle = 5 cm.
