Let the two equal sides of right angled triangle be x.
Then by Pythagoras theorem -
Hypotenuse ^2 = base ^2 + perpendicular ^2.
50 = x^2 + x^2cm^2
50 = 2x^2cm^2
x^2 = 25 cm^2
x = +-5 cm
But side of triangle cannot be negative.
Therefore side of triangle = 5 cm.
