Given : The two sides of the parallelogram ABCD are 8 cm and 6 cm.

The height corresponding to the base 8 cm is 3 cm.

To Find :

(i) Area of the parallelogram

(ii) the height corresponding to the base 6 cm

Solution:

Area of a parallelogram = base * height

base = 8 cm

height = 3 cm

Area of a parallelogram = 8 * 3 = 24 cm²

base = 6 cm

height = h cm

Area of a parallelogram = 6 * h = 24 cm²

=> h = 4 cm

height corresponding to the base 6 cm is 4 cm

Area of a parallelogram  24 cm²

height corresponding to the base 6 cm is 4 cm
