first we will find the area of parallelogram by taking 8cm as base and taking 3cm as height

area of parallelogram =base *height

= 8cm *3cm

= 24cm²

So are area of parallelogram with base as 8 cm is 24cm².

now we will find the height of the same parallelogram by taking base as 6 cm now .

As we are taking same parallelogram the area will be same

so now we will put in the formula and solve

area =base *height

24cm= 6cm *X

24cm= 6xcm

now to find the value of X we will take 6 on left side and decide it with 24

So,

24cm= 6xcm

24 / 6 = X

4cm =X

So, are height for the parallelogram with base as 6 cm is 4cm.

Hope this helps you

Given : The two sides of the parallelogram ABCD are 8 cm and 6 cm.

The height corresponding to the base 8 cm is 3 cm.

To Find :

(i) Area of the parallelogram

(ii) the height corresponding to the base 6 cm

Solution:

Area of a parallelogram = base * height

base = 8 cm

height = 3 cm

Area of a parallelogram = 8 * 3 = 24 cm²

base = 6 cm

height = h cm

Area of a parallelogram = 6 * h = 24 cm²

=> h = 4 cm

height corresponding to the base 6 cm is 4 cm

Area of a parallelogram  24 cm²

height corresponding to the base 6 cm is 4 cm
