The two sources of Zn, that is, ZnSo4, and Zn(CH,COO)2.2H2O can be purchased
at the same price per kilogram of compound. Which is the most economical source

Answer:

Molar mass of Zn = 65.38 g/mol

Molar mass of ZnSO4 = 161.44 g/mol

Molar mass of Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O = 219.50 g/mol

% of Zn in ZnSO4 =65.38161.44 = 0.405 = 40.5%

% of Zn in Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O = 65.38219.5 = 0.298 = 29.8%

Since there is more zinc in the ZnSO4, it is the cheaper source of zinc.

It is cheaper by0.405−0.2980.298×100=35.9%
