The ‘U’ shaped part of the small intestine is (a) Duodenum.

  • Duodenum, jejunum and ileum are three sections of the small intestine.
  • Duodenum is connected to the stomach and receives chyme. It performs further digestion of chyme using enzymes obtained from the pancreas and secretion of the gall bladder.
  • Jejunum and ileum are associated mainly with the absorption of nutrients.
  • The small intestine is part of the digestive system of our body.
