The uncertainty in position and velocity of a particle are 10^-10 m and 5.27 *10 ^-24 m/s respectively. Calculate the mass of the particle .​

Given: For a particle, uncertainty in position , Δx = 10^{-10}m

and, uncertainty in velocity,  Δv=5.27*10^{-27}ms^{-1}

Consider m is the mass of particle.

From Heisenberg's uncertainty principle,

(Δx)(mΔv) = h/4π                        

m = h/4πΔx.Δv                                                ...................(1)

Put the value of h, Δx and Δv in eq.(1),

m=\frac{6.626*10^{-34}Js}{(4)(3.14)(10^{-10}m)(5.27*10^{-24}ms^{-1})}

m=0.100kg

Therefore 0.100kg is the mass of particle.
