The uncertainty relation cannot hold for linear momentum and angle.

  • Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle states that it is not possible to determine the exact position and the linear momentum of an object at the same time.
  • Mathematically, Δx. Δp ≥ h / 4π. Here  Δx and Δp are the uncertainties in position and momentum respectively.
  • In quantum mechanics, energy and time, angular momentum and angle, and phase and particle number are also conjugate pairs that share the same uncertainty rule.
  • Angular momentum and angle do not obey this principle.
