Hello there,
Before going to the answer there are a few points to be considered .
1.Unlike eukaryotes prokaryotic cells are more primitive type of cells.
2.they mainly lack well developed structures including the nucleus.
Coming to the answer....
Prakaryotes instead of a well structured nucleus which is seen in eukaryotes, have a region which tends to perform the role of an actual nucleus.
This region is termed as the nucleoid.
This encloses a single chromosomal circular double layered DNA molecule.
Even though the nucleoid is primitive ,the function it provides is sufficient for the intracellular processes to take place.
I hope this helped you....and ny doubts are indeed welcome
