This is because when the vapours from the ground after getting heated raise upwards and after reaching there it gets condensed as the temperature is not so high. After that it is stored in the cloud and comes back on the earth surface containing dissolved gases which are then touching the ground are poured in the soil getting all the impurities killed like sedimenting the water.
