the underside of a duck has an area of 0.05m squared and a weight of 10 newtons. it floats at a depth where the pressure equals the weight. find the pressure in N/m squared

Given that,

  • Force of weight of the duck = 10N
  • Area of the duck covered = 0.05m²
  • Pressure on the water = ?

we know that,

⇒ Pressure = Force/Area

⇒ Pressure = 10N/0.05m²

⇒ Pressure = 200N/m² {∵pa = N/m²}

⇒ Pressure = 200Pa

∴ Pressure of the Duck on the surface of the water is 200Pa.
