The unequal side of an isosceles triangle measures 24cm and it's area is 60cm^2.find the perimeter of the given isosceles triangle.

Area  of  triangle =  1/2 * 24*  height = 60.  hence,  height = 5

for  isosceles  triangle ,  perpendicular  from  vertex  bisects  the  base.

now  we  have  Right  angle  triangle  with  sides  12  and  5. so  

hypotenuse = 13 = equal side.  so  petrimeter =  13 + 13 + 24 = 40
